Lights will invade the airspace of the City of Rock for the 7-day event that takes place from September 15-24. The new technology will be a major attraction at this year's festival and will last for nine minutes. The show, which is completely unprecedented and has never been seen before in Latin America, will take place in the intermission between the third show and the headliner of the World Stage. The colorful dancing lights, which will form unique shapes and have everything to do with the festival, will be accompanied by a soundtrack with a special arrangement inspired by Austrian classical music, which will be followed by Brazilian bossa nova, before finishing with Rock in Rio’s traditional theme song "Se A Vida Começasse Agora”.
The lights will follow the rhythm of the arrangement created by the Austrian orchestra Passion for Life especially for the event. The drones are controlled by four pilots and form images inspired by the biggest music and entertainment event in the world - equalizer bars, sound waves, guitars and the Rock in Rio logo, among others.
"People constantly ask me what is the secret for Rock in Rio’s continued success after 32 years. I answer: caring, perfectionism and a deep respect for the consumer, which makes us constantly search for the newest and most relevant in the world of entertainment. We want to surprise even the fans who have come to several editions of the festival," says Roberto Medina. According to him, "Rock in Rio brings the future to the new City of Rock, with an attraction that has never been seen before in Latin America, placing Rio de Janeiro on the front line of the most modern things taking place in the world show business".
