In all, there will be 28 shows with about 50 Brazilian and international artists on the Stage Sunset during the 7-day festival. A stage that pairs up a mix of artists, some pairings being quite unusual, with big names in Brazilian and international music as well as new artists. Thus, the Sunset Stage at Rock in Rio, in its fourth consecutive edition in Brazil, will be featured at the City of Rock for the festival. This year the event takes place on September 15, 16, 17, 21, 22, 23 and 24. The featured line-up includes CeeLo Green, Alice Cooper, Ney Matogrosso, Karol Conka and Nile Rodgers, among many others. At this edition, Red Bull is the sponsor of the Sunset Stage.

The stage has already taken its place in the sun and won over the public, reinforcing that it can attract large audiences with not-so obvious pairings. One example is Sepultura and Zé Ramalho in 2013, which won critical acclaim with the audience. Among many others, the 2013 edition also featured Banda Ouro Negro with Mallu Magalhães, during which conductor Mario Adnet played Duke Ellington and had an extremely positive response, once again proving that it is possible win over the audience with an unexpected sound. "At Sunset, people get to see many unlikely performances they would never hear on the radio," says Zé Ricardo, the stage’s artistic director.
