Of the pioneering trash metal bands, Anthrax has a special energy and a career that has undergone several phases. Without fearing to venture into new sounds, the band, in addition to having shaped thrash metal in the 80s, went on to flirt with rap and other music genres without losing their essence. Scott Ian's extremely heavy riffs that are the signature of Anthrax's music and the charisma of the vocalist Joey Belladona make the band a unique experience on the metal scene. The band, along with Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth, is part of the Big Four, the tour that motivated them to record their latest album "For All Kings".
Anthrax is currently one of the most important bands on the scene and has already sold some 10 million copies around the world. Over the years, the band’s music style has changed and they are considered one of the pioneers in the rap metal genre. In 1987, they were the first band to bring rap elements to metal in "I'm the Man". In 1991, they collaborated with Public Enemy in "Bring the Noise". Their 11th studio album, entitled For All Kings, was released on February 26, 2016 and peaked at #9 on the US charts. In August of this year, the band announced that they will be releasing a deluxe edition of their fourth studio album, “State of Euphoria”, to celebrate the album’s 30th anniversary. Besides the original album cover, fans can also expect never-seen-before personal photos of the band members and tours, as well as two Anthrax magazine covers.
