Capital Inicial is a Rock in Rio veteran. It played in the 1991, 2001, 2011, 2013, 2014 (Lisbon) and 2017 editions. In the last one, it got the audience to sing along to a set list especially prepared for the festival. In 2019, the group will perform on October 3 and Dinho Ouro Preto promises that the City of Rock will sing great classics such as "Primeiros Erros" and "À Sua Maneira", apart from new hits of the band.
With a career of more than 30 years, Capital Inicial is established as one of the major Brazilian rock bands and one of the best loved by the audience of the festival. Except for guitar player Yves Passarell, who joined in 2002, the group's lineup is still the original, with Dinho Ouro Preto (vocal), Flávio Lemos (bass) e Fê Lemos (drums). They are backed by Robledo Silva (keyboards and guitars) and Fabiano Carelli (guitars). The band has released 14 studio albums, five live recordings, apart from an album released digitally no a track-by-track basis.
