One of the best live performances in recent times by British band Muse will celebrate their return to the Brazilian stage on the night that closes Rock in Rio 2019. The band debuted at Rock in Rio in 2013, when they introduced their indie rock with progressive elements and delivered a top-notch performance in City of Rock, reasserting the reason why they are one of the headliners at the world's biggest music and entertainment festival. Now they are back again with a new album and original songs for the public. The band, who also performed at Rock in Rio Lisbon, will play for the Brazilian public the singles “Supermassive Black Hole”, “Starlight”, “Madness”, “Psycho” and “Mercy”.
During their 25-year career, they have sold over 20 million records, and when it comes to awards, the trio surprises: they have been nominated 135 times and have won 48 times, including ten NME Awards, 18 Kerrang! Awards, and five MTV Europe Music Awards. Absolution, the third studio album, peaked at #1 in the UK and spawned the immediately successful singles “Time Is Running Out” and “Hysteria”. Released in 2003, the hits off this album went straight to the playlists of the major music and radio channels. In June 2006, "Black Holes and Revelations", the band's fourth album debuted at number 1 on the UK chart.
The album "Drones" was the band's latest release and won a Grammy Award for best rock album, becoming their fifth consecutive number 1 in the UK. It is not for nothing that Muse boasts 7.7 million listeners on Spotify, 16 million followers on Facebook, and four of their nine albums were rated with 4.5 stars on All Music, whose highest rating is 5 stars.
