Rock in Rio 2019: “Nave - Nosso Futuro é Agora” is welcoming the public at the entrance of the Rock City

New attraction is a co-creation of Rock in Rio and Natura and takes the public to an immersive and sensory experience

The new attraction of Rock in Rio “Nave - Nosso Futuro é Agora” materializes the discourse that it is necessary to change the present in order to build the future. From a co-creation between Rock in Rio and Natura, the velodrome of the Olympic Park will become a great immersive and sensory experience. Senses, stimulus, synchronicity, technology will change the interior rhythm of each visitor. In 20-minute sessions: impacting music, scenography effects, 5 thousand m2 of projections, where public and images interact. One experience in which the time takes a new dimension. One opportunity to recognize and find a new synchrony.

When crossing the gates of the Cidade do Rock, the “Nave - Our Future is Now” is the first attraction to cause an impact on the visitors. The expectation of the organizers is that the public will live the moment with intensity and leave the space engaged in this movement of collective transformation.

“The world transformation comes from an engagement of the society and NAVE in a powerful calling to awake in people the necessity to make them more beautiful, empathic and sustainable”, tells João Paulo Ferreira, president of Natura. “We base ourselves on the pillars that always orient our action, in the search for a harmonious relationship among individuals, collectives and with the planet. Provide this experience to impact one generation with sustainable actions, that is to say, which support for the collective well-being, is without a doubt, the great beginning for new times”, he concluded.

For Roberto Medina, president of the festival, “the Nave materializes our conviction that the entertainment is a powerful tool to generate social transformation. With unique experiences of the emotion and the collective we will inspire and empower people to assume the prominence of the world through the choices in their everyday life. With this special opening of Nave, we start to do this since today. We hope the public will get involved and participate”, says Roberto

The expectation is that the experience provided by the new space will become a vehicle of convergence between people, one opportunity to become attuned with all that surrounds us and, from that, start to build the future that is sustainable for the entire society. The attraction will have curatorship of Marcello Dantas, specialist in innovative multimedia contents and one of the main curators of contemporary art in the world.

The attraction gives to the public an opportunity to (re)synchronize, to reestablish the contact with things with which they had lost connection: the cycles of nature, the relation with other people, the attention to the natural rhythm of the human body. The space rescues the power of the collective.

An experience with a soundtrack never heard before to hold dear in your memory

And with “Nave – Our Future is Now” occupying one of the 17 areas of Rock in Rio, music could not fail to be present, after all, it is what connects people as they enter the gates of the largest music and entertainment event in the world. A never heard soundtrack, composed by Zé Ricardo, was produced to highlight this experience. “Ritmo da Alma” suggests that each person finds their own rhythm through self-knowledge and from there start a process of transformation.

The track that has a modern arrangement and makes great use of the Brazilian rhythms, brings renowned names of national music such as Elza Soares, Iza, Titans, Tico Santa Cruz, Gaby Amarantos, Projota, Xenia France, Rael, Maria Rita, Dona Onete, As Bahias e a Cozinha Mineira, Tony Bellotto, Johnny Hooker and Zé Ricardo himself. The song starts with forest sounds and then it transforms, slowly, in the rhythms, through whistles, that comes in a representative way, as a soul blow. The arrangement of the music is marked by the plurality of Brazilian rhythms, such as afoxé from Bahia, the guitarrada from Pará, the maracatu from Pernambuco, with electronic beats and a lot of percussion, mixing the proposal of modernity with Brazilian roots.
