Composed of Carolina Coutinho (vocals), Leonardo Maciel (bass), João Loroza (guitar) e Ruvício Santos (drums), the pop rock band Os Caras & Carol is one of the acts confirmed on the Highway stage at the 2019 Rock in Rio, with performances on September 27, 28 and 29, and on October 4, 4, 5 and 6.

The band will play for the audience some songs from their debut album, titled “Coisas da Vida”, produced by Maurício Pacheco and scheduled to be released in late July.  These original songs, which will surely be included on the band’s set list for these concerts, include a track titled “Cabelo” (Carolina Coutinho/Diego Estteve/João Loroza/Leonardo Maciel/Ruvício Santos), the video for which has already reached 850,000 views on YouTube.

Os Caras & Carol’s music influences are especially Brazilian and international rock music from the 1970s and 1980s, Brazilian popular music (MPB), soul music and other genres that permeate their original songs as well as the cover versions they do.  Because of this, the audience at the festival will also enjoy cover versions of songs such as “You Don´t Know Me”, by Caetano Veloso, “Kiwi”, by Harry Styles and “The Chain”, by Fleetwood Mac, songs that have always been part of the band’s set list.

Os Caras & Carol was created in September 2015, when Carolina and Leonardo met at the Wolf Maya School for Actors, in Rio de Janeiro. At first, the idea was to put together a musical show, but then they started exchanging musical compositions and melodies, which ended up encouraging them to form a band, along with João and Ruvício.
