PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
People with Special Needs - PWD
Since the 2017 edition Rock in Rio has become more accessible to the public, offering a route plan, platforms and interactivity never seen before. In addition to stage visibility platforms, the event provides everyone the opportunity to make the most of each area of the festival, from a stroll on Rock Street to the zip line ride, for example.
The festival has a dedicated team for PWDs, who is responsible for improving each edition and providing a great experience for people with special needs, whether permanent or temporary, such as the disabled, hearing, visually, and intellectually impaired, pregnant women, the elderly, nursing women, people with reduced mobility and the obese.
How accessibility in Rock in Rio works
It starts at the ticket registration. The customer can specify their need so that we can prepare in advance to meet their requests and offer greater comfort and convenience.
- PWD Platforms
Located in strategic places near the stages. PWD customers will be entitled to bring a companion to the platforms.
- Exclusive parking
By registering the bracelet, upon delivery of a medical report, wheelchair users eligible by law to exclusive parking spaces will receive at home a sticker to access the free parking for PWD.
Transportation with vans adapted to PWD departing from two meeting points (Shopping Metropolitano and BRT Olympic Terminal) going to the gates of the Cidade do Rock.
- Golf carts
Routes with nine golf carts exclusive to PWD, equipped with wheelchair accessibility ramps. The carts will provide support to ensure access to all attractions of Rock in Rio, allowing PWD to fully enjoy the Cidade do Rock.
- Exclusive Bathrooms
Twenty-two accessible bathrooms exclusively for the PWD public, spread throughout the Cidade do Rock, two located near the visibility platforms for the show.
- Repair shop
In order to prevent wheelchair users from having their experience compromised by damages to their chairs, we will have a shop to make repairs to damages caused during the festival.
- Tactile floor
Installed in strategic locations to facilitate the mobility of the visually impaired.
The beverage and food partner companies will have a delivery service so that everyone on the PWD platforms can order without going to the counter. This service will have no extra cost.
- Adapted zip line
Chair suitable for climbing stairs and riding the attraction.
