In 2019, Sepultura is back! Derrick Green, Andreas Kisser, Paulo Jr. and Eloy will open the night on Mundo Stage on the most expected day of the last four years, "metal day", October 4. The audience will rock with classics such as "Inner Self" and "Roots Bloody Roots" in the City of Rock.
In the United States, Germany and Finland, when one speaks of Brazilian metal, the first name that comes to mind is Sepultura. Formed in 1984, the band from the state of Minas Gerais has sold more than 20 million records and has broken all barriers, conquering the international scene and becoming of the main figures of the underground scenario blooming towards thrash metal. With a sound that is inventive and exuberant and, at the same time, crude and primitive, the band overcame preconceived notions by putting South America in the heavy metal map while also helping shape something new and brutal in heavy metal since its first albums, "Morbid Visions", "Schizophrenia" and "Beneath The Remains". Intent on traveling to any part of the planet, Sepultura has built a solid fan base wherever in any part of the world where one asks about the metal genre. While in the 1990's many bands tried to establish themselves creatively and commercially, the Brazilians managed to do it throughout: in 1993 with "Chaos AD" and in 1996 with "Roots", instant classics that proved from their release to be extremely influential to several generations of metal musicians.
